The revenue of EMC Instytut Medyczny Group increased in the first half of 2013 to over PLN 81 million

EMC Instytut Medyczny reported an increase of 1.1 percent in consolidated revenue that
reached PLN 81.2 million for the first half-year of 2013, compared to the same period a year
ago.

The growth has resulted from the fact that both revenue from commercial health care services
and proceeds from services for insurance companies have been on the increase.
The proportion of revenue earned from services for commercial patients with respect to the
total revenue has gone up to 15.3 percent in the first half-year of 2013, up from 14.4 percent
last year, while the revenue from services granted to insurance companies has reached 2.6
percent, up from 2.1 percent. The proceeds from services performed for the National Health
Fund have remained at around the same level, however the rate of overspend has decreased in
the reference period. The gross profit totalled PLN 1.78 million while the net profit was PLN
1.31 million.

In the first half-year of 2013 EMC Instytut Medyczny has finalized negotiations with an
investor. Towards the end of May, a tender offer to purchase shares of EMC was announces
by Penta Investments through its subsidiaries Care Up and Soporto Invest. Following
settlement of the tender offer, Penta controls 68.41 percent of EMC shares, while PZU
remains the second largest investor, which after increasing its involvement, holds 27.12
percent of shares of the company.

Pursuing a growth strategy, EMC Group, previously consisting of 8 hospitals and 16
outpatient clinics has expanded by yet another entity - "Health" that runs the County
Hospital in Kwidzyń.

The hospital in Kwidzyń has nine Departments such as: Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedic
Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Neonatology, the Department of Paediatrics,
the Department of Internal Medicine, Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care as well as the
Hospital Emergency Department. Kwidzyń hospital has a bed strength of about 160. A
redevelopment plan for the Hospital is underway so that it meets the EMC Group’s standards.

The expansion of John Paul II Geriatric Hospital in Katowice, which belongs to the EMC
Group was started in the first half-year of 2013. Next to the existing 40-bed facility, a new
hospital department with 60 beds, a rehabilitation and training centre as well as a Research
and Development Centre will be constructed.
A hospital project will involve carrying out research into improving the quality of life for the
elderly thus increasing their physical fitness and independence.

In the first half-year, a construction project that will modernize Bukowiec Hospital continued,
with a new operating theatre and the central sterile services department being created.
