The EMC Group reports nearly 43% growth in revenues up to PLN 59 million in the first quarter of 2014

The EMC Instytut Medyczny Group reported consolidated revenues of PLN 59 million, up 42.7% in the first quarter of 2014. The performance of newly acquired companies-Zdrowie in Kwidzyń and Regionalne Centrum Zdrowia [the District Healthcare Centre], in Lubin- has contributed to the substantial increase in revenues, which means that the Groups sales have gone up nearly PLN 18.5 million.
The EMC Group operating income in the first quarter was PLN 0.97 million, while net income was PLN 89 thousand. Consolidated EBITDA stood at PLN 4.13 million.

“ We have made efforts to improve the performance of the acquired hospitals in order to enhance the quality of medical services offered to our patients while ensuring profitability” -said Piotr Gerber, the President of EMC Instytut Medyczny.
In the 2nd quarter of 2013 the EMC Group expanded by taking over a new subsidiary "Zdrowie" that runs the Hospital in Kwidzyń. The financial results of this medical institution have been consolidated since 1 July last year. In February 2014, a deal to purchase Regionalne Centrum Zdrowia, which runs the Hospital in Lubin, was clinched.

The 400-bed facility in Lower Silesia houses 10 hospital departments, a Care and Nursing Facility and a Hospice. The said hospital departments include Internal Medicine with two subunits: Pulmonology and Allergology, General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Rheumatology, Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, Paediatrics, Neonatology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a Trauma and Orthopaedics Department and a Hospital Emergency Department as well as a Hospice.
