The Capital Group EMC Instytut Medyczny saw a significant improvement in financial performance during the first half of 2012 year-on-year

During the first half of 2012 consolidated revenue of the Capital Group  EMC Instytut Medyczny  was PLN 80,34 million, an almost 13 percent increase versus the analogous period  a year ago. Operating profit  has grown tenfold   amounting to PLN 4,013 million. The net profit totalled PLN 1,72 million compared with  a net loss of PLN 1,5 million last year.

“I am happy to note that business results in the first half of 2012 have shown a  continuous tendency to  improve in comparison to the first six months of the last year”- said Piotr Gerber, the President of EMC Instytut Medyczny.

The growth in the Group's revenue has  resulted from the increase in all types of activities. The fastest growth recorded  accounted for sales of healthcare services under contracts with the National Health Fund, up 12 per cent year-on-year.

The growth of revenues that are financed by the National Health Fund was caused by both the increase in value of the ‘settlement point’ for  hospital services  as well as obtaining new contracts for providing healthcare services in areas which had not  been covered before.

Continuing to implement a development model that assumes creating a comprehensive patient care, in the first half-year of 2012 the Capital Group EMC Instytut Medyczny launched three  departments such as: Gynaecologic Oncology, Surgical Oncology and Ophthalmology at EuroMediCare Hospital in Wroclaw. While a Geriatrics Department and a Department of Neurotic Disorders were opened  in Mikulicz Hospital in Świebodzice, and Bukowiec Hospital in Kowary respectively.

This is a response to the great demand for cancer and  geriatric therapy, as well as bulimia and anorexia becoming more and more common.

At the moment there are 8 hospitals and 16 outpatient clinics that operate within the EMC Group in  Poland’s five voivodeships.
The facilities include: EuroMediCare Specialist Hospital with Outpatient Clinic in Wrocław, St. Roch’s Hospital in Ozimek near Opole, St. Anthony’s Hospital in Ząbkowice Śląskie, Mikulicz Hospital in Świebodzice, St. George’s Hospital in Kamień Pomorski, John Paul II Geriatric Hospital in Katowice,  Bukowiec Hospital in Kowary, and St. Anne’s Hospital in Piaseczno.

The Group also comprises the following Outpatient Clinics: the Łowiecka Outpatient Clinic in Wrocław, Lubmed Outpatient Clinics in Lubin, Formica Outpatient Clinics in  Wrocław and EMC Health Care Ltd. in Dublin.

The hospitals that constitute the EMC Group  provide  healthcare services to over 850 thousand residents of Dolnośląskie, Opolskie, Zachodniopomorskie,  Śląskie and Mazowieckie voivodeships. Over 70 thousand patients  are treated in  the outpatient  clinics as part of  primary health care system.
