Private healthcare market will grow nearly 6 percent a year

According to a PMR report "Private healthcare market in Poland in 2014. Development forecasts for 2014-2018", in 2013, the value of the private healthcare market grew by 4.6 % and totalled PLN 35.4 billion.
PMR predicts that the private healthcare market will be growing dynamically by nearly 6 percent a year and will have reached PLN 40 billion by the end of 2016.

The report shows that the dynamics of the market will continue to develop over the next few years with the economic situation in Poland improving gradually. In 2014 GDP is expected to increase by about 3.4 percent while improving the labor market. Therefore, in 2014 the market will be growing somewhat more rapidly compared to the last two years, and this trend is projected to be maintained until 2018.

On the other hand, there are no significant factors other than the macroeconomic ones that boost the health insurance market , and in the next 2-3 years there will be no major recovery in this segment, which would be subject to legislative changes. Until the insurance market has become saturated, it will continue to be influenced most by macroeconomic factors. Favourable economic forecast for the unemployment rate, wages and GDP between 2014-2018 will have impacted the health insurance market by 2015. As the health insurance market will be reaching saturation between 2016-2018, its growth is bound to slow down eventually.
