EMC Instytut Medyczny takes over the hospital in Kwidzyn

On May 31, 2013 EMC Instytut Medyczny signed a preliminary agreement to purchase 87.5
per cent of shares of "Zdrowie" that runs the District Hospital in Kwidzyń. PLN 8 million for
the purchase of shares will be paid in five years’ time, until then the shares will be utilized by
the Wroclaw-based company.

EMC Instytut Medyczny has agreed to continue to operate the hospital’s core wards,
including the Hospital Emergency Department and the Specialist Outpatient Clinic in
Kwidzyń.

"I am very pleased that the negotiations with the district administrator of Kwidzyń have been
successful and that our Group is about to be increased by another entity" - said Piotr Gerber,
the President of the Wrocław-based company.

The hospital in Kwidzyń has nine Departments such as: Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedic
Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Neonatology, the Department of Paediatrics,
the Department of Internal Medicine, Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care as well as the
Hospital Emergency Department. Kwidzyń hospital has a bed strength of about 160.
"Zdrowie" main shareholder is the District of Kwidzyń, the other shareholders are the City of
Kwidzyń, PEC Ltd. Kwidzyn and PWiK sp o.o. Kwidzyń.
Prior to purchase of the hospital in Kwidzyń, the Group EMC Instytut Medyczny owned eight
hospitals and sixteen clinics.
