Ultrasonographic imaging is performed by experienced radiological consultants with a high-class, state-of-the-art, digital Siemens Omnia device with the option of colour Doppler studies of arterial and venous vessels. Sonographic diagnostic imaging is performed in the following areas:
- the abdominal cavity
- the prostatic gland, breasts, the thyroid gland
- Doppler examination of the cervical arteries
- Doppler examination of the lower limb arteries
- Doppler examination of limb veins

Fine-needle biopsy consists in collection of cellular material from an organ or lesion by the puncturing of the material and its aspiration (suction) into a syringe, this monitored using sonographic imaging. The collected material, following appropriate processing, is then submitted to evaluation under a microscope by an anatomicopathologist.
